Local Food Club

HFFA’s Local Food Club program was a “meal-in-a-bag”, featuring a variety of local foods, seasonal recipes, information about the suppliers, nutritional input from our Registered Dietitian and tips for cooking with kids. Our usual LFC packs came in a flattering and bright orange bag, but during the current global pandemic, supplies were packed in a sturdy box (because who doesn’t love a good box).

The goals of the program were to connect eaters and growers in Headwaters, to encourage kids to cook, and families to explore new foods together. The price of each monthly pack was on average $25 (sliding scale pricing was available). 

Local Food Club was available for free delivery for residents within Dufferin County and Caledon. Thanks to to Ontario Trillium Foundation, we were able to trial free delivery, while continuing to offer contactless pick-up in Orangeville.
